Excellent shots!

I have never seen a photo of Aleutian and Common Terns sitting side by side (4. Stay with friend) :).

He opened an account last night because of this series of photos , but didn't get his password yet. Ten months of birding, he always said he has no time to come to BBS. What drugs you gave him this Sunday ?? ;)

Going back to the photos, I am a person always with science in mind. I went to the talk by KK Hui, and to me, one important criterion for a good photo is its scientific value.

This set of Aleutian photo is the best ever in HK. From there, the moulting of these birds can be seen. Terns have 10 visible primaries. I can see only 8 or 9 primaries on these birds. Also there is vaguely a break between the primaries and secondaries. One new primaries can be seen on a bird. I believe there is sufficient evidences proving that Aleutian Terns starting moulting their first 1 or 2 primaries in HK at this time.

All the evidences of moulting of this species in Autumn are from HK. PR Kernerley, a former HK Bird Watcher, is the pioneer in this area.
