AFCD held a press conference yesterday after WHO's alert that an emerging influenza may kill 7 million people worldwide. A set of measures are in place to control the situation, including close monitoring of chicken and wild birds. 100,000 birds have been tested so far for the bird flu virus and only 2 wild birds had positive results. Monitoring will be stepped up around the peak period of the wintering bird population .
