York Chow, Secretary for Health, Welfare and Food said Hong Kong may be closed to visitors from areas with bird flu outbreak in the local community. On the other hand, Hong Kong may be quarantined if an outbreak occurs here.

The HKBWS warned that since bird flu has spread to Siberia near the Tula Region, the Government should tighten precautionary measures because migrating birds may bring the disease to Hong Kong. Ducks and gulls carry the highest risk.
