Subject: [Gulls] Tens of gulls seen at Tolo Channel today [Print This Page]

There're large and small flocks seen at this Channel today, between Lai Chi Chong and Port Island . I think there're different types, at least two large flocks were of different sizes, the smaller size gulls were darker. Both groups have around 40-50 gulls. Most of them were quite far away (in the sense of my small binoculars) ... I've only got 1-2 closer and clearer photos, as the boat was a bit rocky (though the sea was rather calm) ... will post them for id later.

Yeah, agree that there may be around 100 in total ... they're big but didn't look that white to me under an overcast sky with leaden clouds in the northern sky. Some had grey/slaty wings whereas the others were dotted with brown patterns.
Some were seen around A Chau (Tolo Harbor: one may try to view them from Ma Shi Chau), while most were off Fung Wong Wat.
I've browsed my photos, they're not of good quality, with several scattered in each photo. Anyway, I hope there's someone who can still id them for me later.
