The 9th Thailand Birdwatching Fair 2009

The Bird Conservation Society of Thailand (BCST) is organizing the 9th Thailand Birdwatching Fair 2009 on November 21-22, 2009 at the Royal Thai Army’s Bang Pu Recreation Center in the Province of Samut Prakan. The theme this year is “Save the Birds, Save the Earth” in recognition of the role bird conservation plays in securing healthy ecosystems for a healthy planet.  There will be discussion on the conservation status of bird communities in Thailand and discover what they can do to improve their situation.  An exciting line-up of activities is planned this year, including exhibitions, discussion forum, slide/video shows, bird quiz game show, painting contest, T-shirt design contest, short-film contest, music, student performances and children’s activities, such as painting, puppet show and bird-themed games.

Hong Kong Bird Watching Society has been invited to participate in the Fair again this year. Therefore, we are looking for volunteers who could attend the fair and help us to manage our booth in the bird fair. Volunteers are required to cover the fare of the air ticket between HK and Bangkok, but the BCST will sponsor the local transportation, board and lodging for 2 delegates and will allocate a booth to us on November 21-22.  We normally put some exhibition in the booth to introduce bird watching in Hong Kong and sell our products in the booth.  BCST will also provide a volunteer interpreter to help us communicate with Thais.

A birdwatching trip will also be organised after the fair. Please download the below document to see the details.
