[Mai Po Birdwatching Tour] Special Afternoon Session

Mai Po Nature Reserve has always been a birdwatching hotspot with diverse habitats such as mudflats, marshes, and reed beds, making it an ideal foraging ground for many wintering birds. Each winter, it attracts tens of thousands of waterbirds.

This tour will be professionally led by HKBWS’s researcher. In addition to teaching birdwatching skills, we will share the best tidal levels for birdwatching at Mai Po!

Date: January 26, 2025 (Sunday)
Time: 12:00 PM – 5:30 PM
Location: Mai Po Nature Reserve
Fee: Members $350; Non-members $450
Quota: 20 people (limited quotas, first come first served)
Eligibility: Open to the public aged 12 and above (participants aged 12 to 15 must be accompanied by a parent)

Difficulty: 3/5 stars (suitable for the public)
Language: Cantonese
Route: Mai Po Nature Reserve (mainly flat paths, with some slopes and steps; the instructor may adjust the route based on the actual situation)

Note: Participants need to bring their own binoculars.

Adverse Weather Arrangements
- If the Hong Kong Observatory issues an amber, red, or black rainstorm signal or a tropical cyclone warning signal no. 3 or above two hours before the event assembly time, the activity will be canceled. If a tropical cyclone warning signal no. 1 and a thunderstorm warning are in effect, the decision to change or cancel the event will be made based on the actual situation.
- If the event is canceled due to adverse weather, HKBWS will contact participants within 3 working days to arrange a refund.
 
Cancellation Policy
- If a participant withdraws due to illness on the day of the activity, they must submit a medical certificate to the organization to apply for a refund. Otherwise, unless the activity is canceled due to inclement weather, no refunds will be issued for withdrawals under other circumstances.
- HKBWS reserves the final decision-making authority on all arrangements.
