I looked at this again and this flashed across my mind: This is just crazy from noise point of view judging by the high ISO that had been used. Evidently, there is still miles to go for its ISO before obvious noise problems will spring up in your D3.

Thanks Wing. Seems can push the ISO to about 2000 before noise becomes evident.
