Pied Wheatear at Clockenflap (West Kowloon)

Pied Wheatear at Clockenflap (West Kowloon)

West Kowloon
30th November, 2013

A fantastic find by Paul Leader. What a way to enjoy a cool bird with cool music! What more can one ask!
The Pied Wheatear was next to the Clockenflap, see map for directions.

Big Thanks for the call, Paul.
Cheers

Thanks Paul for finding the bird and Peter & Michelle for guiding us the way!

I am just an inexperienced birder/ birdwatcher/ twitcher/ photographer with no long lens.

Great find Paul and thanks for putting the news out as soon as it was found so other people could enjoy the bird.
That's how it should be

And of course thanks to Michelle for guiding us in.

Excellent afternoon and I call tell the kids I went to Clockenflap see Im not too old.

Great find and great picture....

Anyone know if (a) it was still there today (Sunday) and (b) access is likely to be more straightforward now that the music event is over (ie as of Monday)?

Is the spot marked on the map normally open to public access in fact?

Thanks in anticipation!

Not seen today as I understand it,  that area is open to the pubic though and looks good for migrants.

Thanks for prompt response. Will check it out asap - maybe I'll find something different!

I haven't seen the wheatear but other common birds like long tailed shrike, Richard's pipit, Daurian redstart, common stonechat, blackbird, black drongo and prinia.
Good luck.
I was there from 9:15 to 11am today.
