Do you know the story behind a simple bowl of rice? From a tiny seed to polished white rice, every grain carries the heart and hard work of the farmer. Let your child learn this story by getting involved at the very beginning — rice planting! Together with our farmers, plant each rice seedling with care and discover just how precious every grain of rice really is.
Join us on August 24 (Sun) for our Family Rice Planting Experience Workshop! The event includes a live demonstration by local farmers, hands-on rice transplanting, and preparation activities — an opportunity for all to enjoy the joy of farming.
// Nestled in the picturesque southern Lantau, Shui Hau Village boasts rich natural resources and a unique ecological environment. With a history of over 300 years, Shui Hau has witnessed generations of rural life. Since December 2021, The Hong Kong Bird Watching Society, supported by the local villagers and funded by the Lantau Conservation Fund, has been actively managing the area’s habitats for over three years, such as restoring paddies and creating eco-ponds, successfully reviving Shui Hau rice cultivation. //
