[Open Call for Story of Fishponds!]
For over half a century, fishponds have deeply influenced the history and culture of Hong Kong, even becoming rooted in the lives of many.
Did you have any childhood memories related to ponds? Have you ever enjoyed pleasant moments at the ponds? Are there any people, events, or objects associated with fishponds that bring a smile to your face?
An experience of bird watching, encountering with black-faced spoonbills, a guided tour experience, a memory of a family outing, tasting the local grey mullet......
Despite the relentless impact of urban development, local fishermen continue to work tirelessly to supply high-quality pond fish, while also providing a habitat and food source for migratory birds that visit the wetlands every year.
We sincerely invite you to share your memories and stories with us, whether they are significant events or everyday experiences. Your stories can contribute to the fishpond conservation.
Let's refuse to let history fade away, preserving memories and passing on our culture.
