WBSE is a winter breeding bird in Hong Kong, they start nesting in autumn and egg laying as early as November.
Each brood contains one to two eggs; and the incubation takes about six weeks. The white fluffy chick remains in the nest for about 70 days before deplumation and their plumage would then turns to brown. The fledgling would stay around the nesting area and depend on parental feeding until late summer. Immature individual acquires the full adult plumage by their fourth year and able to breed until they reach six or seven.
